Deep down, you know you’re brilliant. You can’t always get the words out of your mouth because you have so many thoughts running through your mind all the time, but the brilliance is there.
Gaining access to your brilliance (critical thinking) takes some focused attention when you’re busy most of the time. Taking mini quiet breaks each day to just listen to your own thoughts without the need to jump into action will give you that access. Carve out 15 to 20 minutes each day to be silent, with no TV, radio, podcast, talking or interacting of any kind. Some experts say that a 20-minute meditation is equivalent to a two-hour nap!
- Buy guided meditations or meditative music and sit quietly while it plays.
- Set a reminder on your phone (maybe during lunch), turn off the lights in your office, shut the door, close your eyes and just breathe.
- If you work in an office, take a break and go out to your car to just sit quietly.
- However you do it, beg, borrow or steal time for daily introspection and you will be amazed at the answers that come to you during other moments of your day! It will seem like magic!
This will also make it easier to fit everything else into your busy schedule.
